LONDRA ÖTEKİLERİN GÜNDEMİ- Londra’da bir hukukçular odası olan Doughty Street Chambers, Disaster Emergency Committee'nin deprem yardım fonuna bağış toplamak amacıyla 20 Nisan'da Doughty Street Chambers'da bir müzik gecesine ev sahipliği yaptı.
Hukukçu Karlia Lykourgou yaptığı açılış konuşmasında 50 binden fazla kişinin yaşamını yitirdiği ve binlerce insanın da ailesini, evini, herşeyini kaybettiğini belirterek, bir hukukçular odası olarak Doughty Street Chambers adına böylesi bir girişimde bulunmayı bir sorumluluk olarak ele aldıklarını vurguladı.
Tüm biletleri tükenen dayanışma etkinliğine yoğun ilgi gösterildi. Yakın zamanda sanatçı Suna Alan tarafından kurulan bir kadın müzik grubu olan Ethno Voices Project tarafından seslendirilen Türkçe, Kürtçe, Arapça, Yunanca, Ermenice ve Sefarad dillerindeki eserlere yoğun ilgi gösteren dinleyiciler, The Exelixis grubunun seslendirdiği geleneksel Yunan rebetiko eserleri eşliğinde dans ettiler.

A multi-lingual 'solidarity' concert organised in London
Doughty Street Chambers hosted a music night at 54 Doughty St, London WC1N 2LS on 20 April to raise money for the Disaster Emergency Committee's earthquake relief fund.
In her opening speech, barrister Karlia Lykourgou emphasised that more than 50,000 people have lost their lives and thousands of people have lost their families, their homes and everything, and that as a chamber of barristers, it is their responsibility to take such an initiative on behalf of Doughty Street Chambers.
There was great interest in the solidarity event, which was sold out. The audience showed great interest in the pieces in Turkish, Kurdish, Arabic, Greek, Armenian and Sephardic languages performed by Ethno Voices Project, a women-only music band recently founded by singer Suna Alan, and danced to the traditional Greek rebetiko pieces performed by The Exelixis band.
